Charley B. French<br />

Charley B. FRENCH, 68, R.R. 2, North Manchester, died at his home at 5 p.m. Tuesday<br />

after an illness of several months. Several relatives survive in <strong>Fulton</strong> county.<br />

Mr. French was born in Howard county and had lived near North Manchester since 1941.<br />

He was married in 1911 to Mamie GEARHART, who survives.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the South Pleasant Methodist church, four miles south<br />

of Silver Lake. Burial will be in the church cemetery. <strong>The</strong> body will be taken from the Sheetz<br />

funeral home at Akron to the home, where friends may call after noon Thursday and until noon<br />

Friday. <strong>The</strong> body will lie in state at the church for one hour.<br />

Thursday, July 16, <strong>1959</strong><br />

Tearl M. Cornell<br />

Mrs. Tearl M. CORNELL, 76, <strong>Fulton</strong>, died at 7:15 a.m. today at the home of her<br />

daughter, Mrs. Mary OVERMYER, where she had been living. Death came after an illness of 2<br />

1/2 years.<br />

Born on Oct. 1, 1882 in Miami county, Mrs. Cornell had spent most of her life in the<br />

<strong>Fulton</strong> vicinity. She was the daughter of Levi and Mary E. POWNALL MARTIN.<br />

Mrs. Cornell was married Feb. 23, 1902, to Charles E. CORNELL, who died June 17,<br />

1929. She was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Pilgrim Holiness church.<br />

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. D. K. (Marie) CRIPPEN, Grass Creek; Mrs. Ed (May)<br />

PREBLE, Tampa, Fla.; Mrs. William (Ruth) MEADE, Battle Creek, Mich., and Mrs. Verdell<br />

(Mary) OVERMYER, <strong>Fulton</strong>; two sons, Claude [CORNELL], Muncie, and Clyde [CORNELL],<br />

R.R. 6, Rochester; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lena MEDULAN,<br />

Cedar Rapids, Ia., and a brother, Charles MARTIN, Peru. One daughter, Fern [CORNELL],<br />

preceded her in death.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Ditmire funeral home at <strong>Fulton</strong> with the Rev.<br />

Lincoln LEHUE officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral<br />

home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Martha L. Powell<br />

Mrs. Martha L. POWELL, 83, R.R. 2, Akron, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the<br />

home of a niece, Mrs. Blanche WELLS, where she had been living.<br />

Born Nov. 12, 1875 in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of Seth and Maria RHODES<br />

WARREN. On April 28, 1910 she was married to Francis Orlando POWELL who preceded her<br />

in death. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist church.<br />

She was the last of a family of five. Six nieces survive.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Tom Haupert funeral home at Akron with the<br />

Rev. Claude FAWNS officiating. Burial will be in the Macy Plainview cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home.
