Whitfield Heminger<br />

Whitfield “Whit” HEMINGER, 63, 1213 Monroe street, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the<br />

Hines hospital near Chicago after a lingering illness.<br />

A retired real estate agent, he had been an employee of the state excise department. A<br />

veteran of World War I, he was a past commander of the American Legion Post here and was a<br />

member of the First Christian church. He had resided in <strong>Fulton</strong> before moving to Rochester<br />

several years ago.<br />

Born in Kewanna, he was the son of Amos and Maria HEMINGER. His marriage was in<br />

March, 1917, to Edythe BOTHAST, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are one son, Allan [HEMINGER], Logansport; one brother, Leonard<br />

[HEMINGER], Gary; one sister, Mrs. Anna ACKERT, Fort Myers, Fla., and several nieces and<br />

nephews.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. <strong>The</strong> Ditmire funeral home at <strong>Fulton</strong> is in charge.<br />

William H. Longman<br />

William H. LONGMAN, 95, retired mason and former Lucerne resident died at 9:15 p.m.<br />

Wednesday at Memorial hospital in Logansport. He had lived the past six years with his daughter,<br />

Mrs. Arthur FEIDNER, R.R. 3, Kewanna.<br />

Survivors are the daughter, and two grandsons, Bill and Robert FEIDNER, both stationed<br />

in Germany with the U.S. Army.<br />

Final rites will be at the Harrison Garden Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Kenneth<br />

OVERMYER will officiate and burial will be in Grass Creek. Friends may call at the chapel after<br />

7 p.m. today.<br />

Nellie Richardson<br />

Mrs. Nellie RICHARDSON, 82, died Thursday at her home in Knox.<br />

Born in Rochester, she had resided here until moving to Knox two years ago. Her<br />

husband, Kelsey RICHARDSON, preceded her in death.<br />

Surviving are two stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen COYTENDALL and Mrs. Mary<br />

MORROW, both of South Bend; two stepsons, Dr. C. L. RICHARDSON, Rochester, and Clyde<br />

RICHARDSON, St. Joseph, Mich., and one brother, Ben NOFTSGER, Rochester.<br />

Funeral rites will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Price funeral home at Knox with burial<br />

Monday in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Rochester. Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />

Sunday at 2 p.m. in the First Christian church here with the Rev. C. A. UNDERWOOD officiatint.<br />

Burial will be at the Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the<br />

American Legion Post of Rochester.<br />

Friends may call at the Ditmire funeral home until noon Sunday.<br />

Mr. Heminger, a retired real estate agent, died Wednesday near Chicago after a lingering<br />

illness.
