after the accident, but that the train had nothing to do with the mishap. State police and the<br />

sheriff’s office were told by crewmen of train number 77 that they saw the car against the utility<br />

pole as the train passed the site.<br />

State troopers said all four tires of the Burns car were bald. <strong>The</strong> accident still is under<br />

investigation.<br />

Nell Louise Burns was born Jan. 26, 1958 in Woodlawn hospital. She is survived by the<br />

parents; a sister, Judy [BURNS]; the paternal grandparents, Ivan Roy BURNS, Sr., Peru, and Mrs.<br />

Guy [SPRAGUE], Leiters Ford, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Ruth LOWE, Warsaw.<br />

Final rites will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Omega church southwest of Akron, with<br />

the Rev. Ben POWELL officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.<br />

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Sheetz funeral home in Akron.<br />

Ella Fowler<br />

Mrs. Etta FOWLER, 84, a former Liberty township resident, died at 4 a.m. today in the<br />

home of a daughter, Mrs. Hilda GASTINEAU, Miamisburg, O.<br />

Mrs. Fowler moved to Logansport from Liberty township. Her husband, Jefferson<br />

[FOWLER], died on Dec. 6, 1946.<br />

Surviving besides Mrs. Gastineau are three other daughters, Mrs. Reba BRIGGS, Tucson,<br />

Ariz.; Mrs. Hermia HAVENS, Long Beach, Cal., and Miss Mildred FOWLER; a son, Bernard<br />

[FOWLER], Logansport; fifteen grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Ditmire funeral home at <strong>Fulton</strong> with the Rev.<br />

Arthur S. TRUEX officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> cemetery. Friends may call at the<br />

funeral home after 7 p.m. Thursday.<br />

Amos Stingley<br />

Amos STINGLEY, 84, who resided near Kewanna, died early today at his home. He had<br />

been ill since June.<br />

Born April 9, 1875, in Canton Berne, Switzerland, he came to America in 1881. His<br />

marriage was to Lydia B. BLASSER, who survives.<br />

Also surviving are one son, Fred [STINGLEY], Kewanna; two sisters, Mrs. Chloe<br />

WASHBURN, Lakeville, and Mrs. Esther OVERMYER, Kewanna; six granddaughters; one<br />

grandson and sixteen great-grandchildren.<br />

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Harrison chapel at Kewanna with<br />

burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Kewanna. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Thursday.<br />

Elizabeth Boldry<br />

Mrs. Elizabeth BOLDRY, 71, who lived three miles east of <strong>Fulton</strong>, died suddenly at 6:30<br />

a.m. today in the home of her daugher, Mrs. Louise BUZBEE, R.R. 1, Logansport. Although she<br />

had been ill two years, death was unexpected.<br />

Born in Livingston county, Ill., May 21, 1888, Mrs. Boldry was the daughter of William<br />

H. and Rosetta MATHENY HANKS. She had lived near <strong>Fulton</strong> for the last 12 years, moving<br />

there from the Twelve Mile community.<br />

On Aug. 24, 1909, she was married to Floyd BOLDRY, who died Aug. 22, 1957. She<br />

was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist church.<br />

Surviving besides Mrs. Buzbee are a son, Ralph [BOLDRY], R.R. 2, Kewanna; two
