Pearl V. Manning<br />

Funeral rites will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for Mrs.<br />

Pearl Vivian MANNING, 80, former Rochester resident, who died Tuesday at 7 a.m. in Buchanan,<br />

Mich.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. C. A. UNDERWOOD will officiate at the rites and burial will be in the<br />

I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Thursday.<br />

Mrs. Manning was born April 22, 1879, at Sidell, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.<br />

Charles MITCHELL. She was married in 1898 to Luther MANNING, who preceded her in death.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Mannings formerly lived in the house south of the Methodist church which now is used as a<br />

church annex.<br />

Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Harold HEETER, Buchanan, Mich.<br />

Ralph L. Moonshower<br />

Ralph L. MOONSHOWER, Huntington, brother-in-law of Mrs. Lou MOONSHOWER<br />

of Rochester, died in the Huntington hospital Tuesday. He was a retired conductor for the Erie<br />

Railroad.<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Robbins funeral home at Huntington and<br />

burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.<br />

John B. Hoover<br />

John B. HOOVER, 74, retired Rochester restaurant owner, died this morning at 5 o’clock<br />

in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been a patient since Thursday. He had been residing in<br />

Mishawaka with his son, Harold HOOVER, since Nov. 1, 1958, and had been in ill health since<br />

Aug. 15, 1958.<br />

Born Mrch 6, 1885, near Mt. Zion, Mr. Hoover was the son of Frank P. and Elizabeth<br />

OSTRANDER HOOVER. He had resided his entire life in this community. Mr. Hoover spent 42<br />

years in the restaurant business, operating Hoover’s Cafe at 802 Main steet, where Seaborad<br />

Finance now is located, and then Peoples Cafe at 707 Main street. He sold the latter and retired in<br />

December, 1955.<br />

He was a member of the Rochester I.O.O.F. lodge.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Harold, Mishawaka, and Richard [HOOVER], Rochester; two<br />

brothers, Don C. HOOVER, Rochester, and Ernest HOOVER, South Bend; one grandchild and<br />

several nieces and nephews.<br />

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with<br />

the Rev. George R. CRANE officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends<br />

may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
