William M. Brown<br />

William M. BROWN, 87, 415 West Third street, died at 4:40 a.m. today at the Rochester<br />

nursing home. Mr. Brown had been a patient there since Dec. 27, 1958, after suffering a stroke in<br />

March of 1957.<br />

A lifelong rsident of Rochester, he was born here Nov. 23, 1871, the son of Angus and<br />

Lucy CHINN BROWN. He was married twice, the first time to Nellie Mae OWENS on Oct. 29,<br />

1892. She died Feb. 13, 1936, and on Oct. 9, 1937, he was married to Bertha M. ALSPACH. <strong>The</strong><br />

second Mrs. Brown died March 24, 1953.<br />

Mr. Brown was retired. He was a member of the Christian church and the Knights of<br />

Pythias.<br />

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Georgie) NAVLICK, 415 West Third street; two<br />

step-sons, Louis ALSPACH, Rochester, and John R. ALSPACH, Sturgis, Mich.; several nieces<br />

and nephews, and a step-grandchild.<br />

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral<br />

home by the Rev. C. A. UNDERWOOD. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may<br />

call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Earl Wilson<br />

Earl WILSON, 30, 1119 Jefferson street, died of a heart attack about 9:30 o’clock this<br />

morning at the Walburn Feed Store, 419 Main street, where he was employed. Keith WALBURN,<br />

store owner, was Mr. Wilson’s son-in-law.<br />

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. <strong>The</strong> body was removed to the Zimmerman<br />

Brothers funeral home, where friends may call after noon Sunday.<br />

Final rites for Earl WILSON, 59, 1119 Jefferson street, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the<br />

Zimmerman Brothers funeral home here. <strong>The</strong> Rev. George R. CRANE, retired Rochester E.U.B.<br />

pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery.<br />

Mr. Wilson died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday of a heart attack at the Walburn Feed Store, 419<br />

Main street, where he was employed. He was the father-in-law of Keith WALBURN, the store<br />

owner.<br />

A member of the Priaire Grove E.U.B. church, Mr. Wilson had worked at Walburn’s<br />

since 1946. He was born on April 13, 1899, southwest of Rochester, the son of John S. and Jennie<br />

McCAY WILSON, who survive.<br />

Also surviving are a son, Wayne [WILSON], Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Martha<br />

MATHIAS, South Bend, Mrs. Helen WALBURN and Mrs. Marjorie MUTCHLER, both of<br />

Rochester; a sister, Mrs. Sarah FITZ, South Bend; three brothers, George [WILSON], Rochester,<br />

Hobart [WILSON], Plymouth, and Clifford [WILSON], New Castle.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home.
