Arthur B. Morgan<br />
Arthur B. MORGAN, son of Mrs. Noah SHIVELY of 915 Madison street and a former<br />
Rochester resident, died at his home in Dearborn, Mich., Saturday.<br />
Mr. Morgan was a Rochester high school graduate and served four years in the U. S.<br />
Marine Corps. He had been employed by the Ford Motor company in Dearborn for a number of<br />
years until his death. He was born in Terre Haute on Oct. 16, 1907.<br />
Surviving besides Mrs. Shively are the widow, Betty [MORGAN], and two daughters,<br />
Patricia and Donna [MORGAN], all at home; the father, William M. MORGAN, South Lynn,<br />
Mich.; a brother, Casey MORGAN, Rochester; two nieces, Sue and Judith MORGAN, and a<br />
nephew, Charles William MORGAN, all of Rochester; the step-father, Noah SHIVELY, 915<br />
Madison street, and several other relatives.<br />
Funeral services will be in Dearborn Wednesday afternoon.<br />
Ross Sowers<br />
Ross SOWERS, 68, retired Macy farmer, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday at his home after an<br />
illness of three months.<br />
Born Oct. 23, 1890, the son of John and Laura POWELL SOWERS, he had spent his<br />
entire lifetime in Miami county. On June 26, 1924, he was married to Faun HICKMAN, who<br />
survives.<br />
Mr. Sowers was a member of the Peru Elks lodge and the Macy Christian church.<br />
Surviving, besides the widow are a son, John R. [SOWERS], Amarillo, Texas; two<br />
daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) SAVAGE, Macy, and Miss Evelyn SOWERS, Indianapolis; three<br />
grandsons, and two brothers, Earl and Verl [SOWERS], both of Macy.<br />
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Darrel<br />
TAGGART at the Ditmire funeral home, <strong>Fulton</strong>, with burial in Plainview cemetery, Macy.<br />
Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />
James T. Hutson<br />
James T. HUTSON, 44, Mishawaka, died suddenly of a heart attack at 5 p.m. Saturday at<br />
the home of his aunt, Mrs. Charles ELY, Argos. Mr. Hutson had been visiting relatives in Argos<br />
all day and had just entered his aunt’s home when the attack struck. He had had heart trouble for<br />
the last two years.<br />
Mr. Hutson was born Jaauary 1, 1915, at Chicago, the son of James and Gladys<br />
MIDDLETON HUTSON. On May 28, 1938, he was married in Chicago to Elvira NYQUIST,<br />
who survives. <strong>The</strong> Hutsons moved to Mishawaka from Joliet, Ill., three years ago.<br />
Mr. Hutson, a Navy veteran of World War II, was employed in the IBM section of the<br />
Bendix Missiles corporation of Mishawaka. He was a member of the East Methodist church and<br />
of the Bendix Managers club.<br />
Surviving besides the widow are four daughters, Carol, Linda, Pamela and Joan<br />
[HUTSON], and one son, James [HUTSON], Jr., all at home, and the mother and step-father, Mr.<br />
and Mrs. Fred HUTSON, Traverse City, Mich.<br />
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Bubb funeral home,<br />
Mishawaka by the Rev. Kenneth SMITH of the East Methodist church in that city. Burial will be<br />
in the Maple Grove cemetery, Argos. <strong>The</strong> body was moved to the Bubb funeral home from the<br />
Grossman funeral home, Argos, where friends had viewed the body until 5 p.m. Sunday.
