Also surviving are two brothers, William and James [BENEFIEL], and two sisters, Judy<br />

[BENEFIEL] and Mrs. Donna BUTLER.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body was removed to the Jackley funeral home in Elwood, where fneral<br />

arrangements are pending.<br />

Lucille C. Cook<br />

Mrs. Lucille C. COOK, 74. a lifelong resident of Kewanna, did Sunday morning in<br />

Woodlawn hospital after a long illness.<br />

Mrs. Cook was born Nov. 11, 1884, in Kewanna, the daughter of John and Mary<br />

CLELAND LEITER. She was married April 18, 1910, to Hugh COOK, who survives. Mrs. Cook<br />

was a member of the Kewanna Methodist church.<br />

Surviving besides the widower is a son, Jack [COOK], of Chicago.<br />

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison funeral home, Kewanna,<br />

and burial will be in the Kewanna I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1<br />

p.m. Tuesday.<br />

William Voreis<br />

William “Guy” VOREIS, 59, a native of Argos and a former resident of Rochester, died<br />

Monday in Chicago after an illness of two years. Mr. Voreis had made his home with his<br />

daughter, Mrs. Edward LUEBKER, in Chicago during his illness.<br />

He ws born Jan. 16, 1900, the son of Jacob and Estella CASTLEMAN VOREIS, and was<br />

married to Ineze FISHBURN, who died in 1940. Mr. Voreis lived in Argos until 1941, where he<br />

was employed by the Kosanke Brothers creamery.<br />

He also had lived in Rochester and Nappanee and was last employed by the Haverstock<br />

funeral home in LaPorte.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Donnabelle) LUEBKER, Chicago, and Mrs.<br />

Leon (Patricia) WILLIAMS, Grovertown; a son, Robert [VOREIS) Argos; five grandchildren; and<br />

three brothers, James [VOREIS], Chicago, Dale [VOREIS], LaPorte, and Orville [VOREIS],<br />

Argos.<br />

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. E. J. PETERS of the Argos Methodist<br />

church at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Grossman funeral home, Argos, where friends may call. Burial<br />

will be in the New Oak Hill cemetery, Plymouth.<br />

Carol Ann Burns<br />

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Omega<br />

cemetery by the Rev. Ben POWELL for the infant daughter of Ivan, Jr. and Murial BURNS, R.R.<br />

2, Akron.<br />

<strong>The</strong> child died at birth at 8:35 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn hospital here. <strong>The</strong> parents had<br />

named her Carol Ann [BURNS]. <strong>The</strong> couple has one other daughter, Judy [BURNS], about 12.
