Kendallville; one son, Eugene [CARITHERS], Bremen; nine grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren;<br />
and one sister, Mrs. Nellie BROOKER, Rochester. One brother and two sisters<br />
preceded him in death.<br />
funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Grossman funeral home at Argos with<br />
burial in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Rochester. Friends may call after Thursday noon at the funeral<br />
home.<br />
Frank Young<br />
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Logansport for Frank YOUNG, 77, R.R. 1,<br />
Idaville, a native of Rochester. He died Tuesday morning at St. Joseph hospital after a long<br />
illness.<br />
Mr. Young, a retired roofing contractor, attended Rochester schools and was the son of<br />
Marion and Isabelle PENCE YOUNG. He operated his roofing business in Logansport from1907-<br />
47.<br />
Mr. Young invented modern type eaves and other roofing devices and timesavers. He<br />
left Rochester about 50 years ago.<br />
Surviving are his wife; one son; one grandson; two great-grandsons and a niece, Miss<br />
Ruth CLAYTON, Rochester.<br />
Mr. Young was an active member of the Masonic and Elks lodges. Funeral rites will be<br />
in the Chase-Miller funeral home with burial in the Mt. Hope cemetery. Friends may call at the<br />
funeral home.<br />
Mrs. Fred Strominger<br />
Mrs. Fred STROMINGER, R.R. 2, Rochester, died this afternoon about 1:15 o’clock in<br />
Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient several weeks.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Zimmerman Brothers funeral home is in charge of arrangements, which are<br />
incomplete.<br />

Elnora Strominger<br />
Last rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for Mrs.<br />
Elnora STROMINGER, 56, who resided on the east shore of Lake Manitou. She died of leukemia<br />
Wednesday at 1:15 p.m. in Woodlawn hospital, where she had been a patient for five weeks.<br />
Death came after a 2 1/2 year illness.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. James SCHUMACHER will officiate at the funeral services and burial will be<br />
in the Mt. Hope cemetery, Peru. Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />
Born March 16, 1903, in Wabash, Mrs. Strominger came to Rochester from Peru in 1950.<br />
She was the daughter of Charles and Nora Clair BROOKS. Her marriage was at Wabash Oct. 27,<br />
1924, to Fred L. STROMINGER.<br />
She was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian church and was employed as a nurse at<br />
Woodlawn hospital until her health failed.
