Jay Allen Howard<br />
Funeral services for Jay Allen HOWARD, 23, R.R. 5, Peru, who died Wednesday<br />
morning when his truck turned after striking a bridge south of Mentone, will be Saturday at 9 a.m.<br />
at the St. Charles church in Peru.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rt. Rev. Msgr. Paul A. WELSH will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Hope<br />
cemetery.<br />
Friends may call at the Drake-Flowers funeral home in Peru.<br />
Charles I. Wells<br />
Charles I. WELLS, 69, R.R. 2, Akron, died at 2:30 a.m. today at his home. Mr. Wells<br />
had been in serious condition for the last month.<br />
A barber, he was a member of the Akron Masonic lodge 659, the Akron Church of God<br />
and the Akron library board. He had lived in Akron the last 46 years.<br />
He was born Feb. 13, 1890, in Greensburg, Ky., the son of T. W. and Eliza BLAKEMAN<br />
WELLS. On May 26, 1946, he was married to Blanche SWARTZLANDER, who survives.<br />
Also surviving are a son, Charles [WELLS], Jr., Plymouth, Mich.; two grandsons, and<br />
two sisters, Mrs. Mattie SHAPINSKY, Scottsburg, Ind., and Mrs. Olin MAYFIELD, Memphis,<br />
Ind.<br />
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Moyer-Haupert funeral home,<br />
Akron, with the Rev. Harold CONRAD in charge. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends<br />
may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.<br />
Eva Clements<br />
Mrs. Eva GILMAN CLEMENTS, 87, who had made her home with her daughter, Mrs.<br />
Rolland (Edna) SMITH, R.R. 1, Rochester, for about the last 20 years, died Thursday afternoon at<br />
1 o’clock in San Antonio, Fla.<br />
Mrs. Clements had gone to Florida last November for the winter.<br />
<strong>The</strong> body is being returned to the Harrison funeral home, Kewanna. Funeral<br />
arrangements are pending.<br />

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison funeral home,<br />
Kewanna, for Mrs. Eve GILMAN CLEMENTS, 87, R.R. 1, Rochester, who died in San Antonio,<br />
Fla, Thursday afternoon. <strong>The</strong> Rev. Charles W. COOK will be in charge, and burial will be in the<br />
Grass Creek cemetery.<br />
<strong>The</strong> body is being returned from Florida early Sunday, and friends may call at the funeral<br />
home after 8 a.m.Sunday.
