Nettie Stevenson<br />

Mrs. Nettie STEVENSON, 88, who resided south of Argos on U.S. 31, died at 4 p.m.<br />

Thursday in Parkview hospital at Plymouth after a two-week illness.<br />

She was born in Jay county on April 1, 1871, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth<br />

STULTS OLER. Her marriage was April 14, 1894, at Argos to Frank STEVENSON, who died<br />

July 7, 1955. She had resided near Argos the past 40 years.<br />

Mrs. Stevenson was a member of the Argos Christian church.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Ethel) OVERMYER, Argos; and Mrs. Arthur<br />

(Hazel) LUTY R.R. 5, Rochester; one son, Allen [STEVENSON], at home; five grandchildren<br />

and eight great-grandchildren.<br />

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. CDT in the Argos Christian church with the<br />

Rev. Ernest TREBER officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove cemetery. Friends may call<br />

at the Umbaugh funeral home in Argos until noon Saturday and at the church until an hour prior to<br />

the service.<br />

Mary Lou Overmyer<br />

Miss Mary Lou OVERMYER, 75, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rochester nursing<br />

home after an illness of seven years.<br />

Before entering the nursing home six years ago, she had resided at 230 East Ninth street,<br />

Indianapolis, where for many years she was a buyer for L. S. Ayres.<br />

Born Nov. 19, 1883 in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she had spent most of her life in Indianapolis.<br />

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Blanche MILLER, R.R. 5, Rochester; Mrs. Versa<br />

SMITH, Akron, and Mrs. Pearl KESSLER, Albion, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents<br />

and two brothers preceded her in death.<br />

Funeral rites will be 2 p.m. DST Sunday at the Foster & Good funeral home with the<br />

Rev. George CRANE officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here. Friends may call<br />

at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Hugh W. Cook<br />

Hugh W. COOK, 70, Kewanna, died early Sunday morning at his home after a short<br />

illness. Cause of death has not been determined.<br />

A native of Kewanna, he was born Dec. 26, 1879 to Oliver E. and Margaret WILSON<br />

COOK. He was a member of the Methodist church.<br />

Mr. Cook lived in Chicago for several years, where he was connected with Allis-<br />

Chalmers. His wife, the former Lucille LEITER, died last April.<br />

Surviving are a son, Jack [COOK] in Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie HEIMBURGER,<br />

Lafayette, and Mrs. Mabel COSTELLO, Michigan City; a brother, Charles [COOK], Madison,<br />

Wis., and several nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Harrison chapel in Kewanna with the Rev
