He was married Dec. 24, 1946, to Vada REFFETT, who survives. She is a teacher at<br />

Riddle elementary school. Mr. Barts was a member of the Grace Methodist church and Rochester<br />

Lions club and was a veteran of World War II.<br />

Surviving besides his wife are one son, Charles Keith [BARTS], two years of age; his<br />

parents, Rochester; one brother, Joseph [BARTS], Rochester; two sisters, Mrs. June VRANA,<br />

Rochester, and Mrs. Alice SROUFE, Macy; one niece and four nephews.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace Methodist church, with Dr. Claude<br />

YOUNG officiating, assistd by the Rev. James REFFETT and the American Legion. Burial will<br />

be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery here.<br />

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.<br />

Ferris Hatfield<br />

Mrs. Ferris [BRYANT] HATFIELD, 60, Talma, who with her husband, Ralph<br />

[HATFIELD], operated the Talma general store, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at her residence after an<br />

illness of three weeks.s<br />

A native of Akron, Mrs. Hatfield had spent her entire life in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, most of it in<br />

Talma. She was born June 8, 1898, the daughter of Phillip and Florence NELSON BRYANT.<br />

She was married May 29, 1932, in Akron and was a member of the Talma Methodist<br />

church.<br />

Surviving are the husband; her step-mother, Mrs. Cora BRYANT, Talma; a sister, Mrs.<br />

Glen EMMONS, Talma; a brother, Estel BRYANT, Akron, and several nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home here with<br />

the Rev. Delbert RUBERG, Huntington, officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F.<br />

cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.<br />

Robert J. Minglin<br />

Robert J. MINGLIN, 39, 429 West Fifth street, died Monday at 9 p.m. at Woodlawn<br />

hospital, where he had been a patient the past week. Death came after six months’ illness and was<br />

attributed to uremic poisoning, following a gallbladder operation.<br />

Employed as custodian of Lincoln junior high school, Mr. Minglin was born near<br />

Logansport on March 29, 1919, the son of William R. and Rosa DOHLE MINGLIN. He was<br />

married April 1, 1945, at Rochester to Willetta Van LUE, who survives. Mr. Minglin had resided<br />

in Rochester since 1935, coming here from Logansport.<br />

He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist church.<br />

Also surviving are one daughter, Rosa Jane [MINGLIN], 11; one son, Richard J. H.<br />

[MINGLIN]; his mother, South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth HOOVER and Mrs. Margaret<br />

KINGERY, both of South Bend; two brothers, Charles and Glen [MINGLIN], both of South<br />

Bend, and numerous nieces and nephews.<br />

Last rites will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev.<br />

James RHOADS of the First Baptist church officiating, assisted by the Rochester American<br />

Legion Post. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7<br />

p.m. Tuesday.
