Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Kewanna Church of Christ for Mrs.<br />

Helen BIBER, 43, R.R. 3, Rochester, who died Thursday at 8:30 p.m. after a month’s illness.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Floyd SAXTON will officiate at the rites and burial will be in Moon cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the home of the brother, John HILFLICKER, Kewanna. <strong>The</strong> body will lie in<br />

state at the church an hour before the services. <strong>The</strong> Foster & Good funeral home is in charge of<br />

the rites.<br />

E. E. Gerig<br />

E. E. GERIG, 81, Akron, died at 7 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn hospital here from a heart<br />

ailment. He had been ill the past five days.<br />

Born July 22, 1878, in Allen county, he was the son of Joseph and Sarah BOWEN<br />

GERIG. He was married to Matilda KOBB in 1897. She died in 1924. On Sept. 5, 1925, he<br />

married Ethel UTTER, who survives. Mr. Gerig, a retired insurance agent, had resided in Akron<br />

since 1927. He was a member of the Church of God, Gideon Society and a founder and director<br />

Layman Church of God.<br />

Also surviving are three daughters, Ersle M. HARTUNG, Anderson; Dora L.<br />

BATDORF, Anderson; G. Clella NEFF, Columbus, O.; two sons, John J. GERIG, Akron; Chester<br />

GERIG, Elwood; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one step-son,<br />

Howard M. UTTER, Akron; one step-daughter, E. Selina GERIG, Akron. One daughter and one<br />

son prceded him in death.<br />

Funeral rites will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Akron Church of God with the Rev. W.<br />

Dale OLDHAM, Anderson, the Rev. Harold CONRAD and the Rev. D. L. SLAYBAUGH<br />

officiating. Burial will be in the Woodlawn cemetry at Auburn, where graveside rites also will be<br />

conducted.<br />

Friends may call at the Tom Haupert funeral home in Akron after noon Wednesday until<br />

11 a.m. Thursday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state from noon until 1<br />

p.m.<br />

Adam Stout<br />

Adam STOUT, 56, Akron, died at 3:15 a.m. Monday at his home after a year’s illness.<br />

Born July 8, 1903, at Akron, he had resided there his entire life. He was married in 1930<br />

to Lavon SPEICHER, who survives. His parents were William D. and <strong>The</strong>odocia<br />

WHITTENBERGER STOUT.<br />

Mr. Stout was a member of the Akron Methodist church, secretary of the Akron<br />

Cemetery association and for 14 years he had worked for the State Highway Department. <strong>The</strong><br />

past 14 years he was employed at the Akron Postoffice.
