Charles Robertson<br />

Funeral services were held this afternoon in Fort Meade, Fla., for Charles ROBERTSON,<br />

81, former Lake Manitou businessman, who died suddenly of a heart attack Wednesday night at<br />

his home, 1115 Virginia avenue, Bartow, Fla.<br />

Burial was in the Fort Meade (Fla.) cemetery.<br />

Mr. Robertson for 42 years operated the Robertson Boat Landing on the north shore of<br />

Lake Manitou, now known as the Chaney Boat Landing. He had made his year-around home in<br />

Bartow since selling the local business six years ago.<br />

He was born Dec. 25, 1877, at Liberty, Ind., and was married to Grace HARRISON of<br />

Rochester. Surviving are the wife; two sons, Wayne and Donald [ROBERTSON], one grandson,<br />

Charles [ROBERTSON]; one sister, Rose MARTIN, Indianapolis, and several nieces and<br />

nephews.<br />

Dr. John C. Glackman<br />

Dr. John C. GLACKMAN, 78, Rochester physician and city health officer, was killed<br />

Thursday afternoon in a head-on auto collision on the U.S. 31 bypass at Kokomo.<br />

Dr. Glackman, died of a crushed chest and internal injuries in St. Joseph hospital at<br />

Kokomo, two hours after the crash occurred at 3:25 p.m.<br />

Also injured were Dr. Glackman’s daughter, Mrs. John ISAACS, 28, Culver, and her two<br />

sons, Jackie ISAACS, 6, and Scotty ISAACS, 5. Mrs. Isaacs had scalp and right knee lacerations.<br />

Jackie sustained bruises. Both have been released from the hospital.<br />

However, Scotty ISAACS still is a hospital patient today with possible internal injuries.<br />

<strong>The</strong> hospital said this morning that the child is “resting well.”<br />

<strong>The</strong> driver of the other car, Richard T. MARSH, 37, 4856 Barlow drive, Indianapolis,<br />

also was hospitalized with internal injuries and lacerations to the right knee and face.<br />

According to state police and Howard county sheriff’s deputies, the northbound 1957<br />

Plymouth sedan driven by Marsh swerved across the center line and into the path of the<br />

southbound 1958 Mercury station wagon, driven by Glackman. <strong>The</strong> head-on collision occurred a<br />

fourth-mile south of the Chrusler Corporation transmission plant on the U.S. 31 bypass.<br />

Marsh told police he did not know how the accident happened but officials were<br />

investiating the possibility that a tire blow-out might have caused the Marsh car to swerve into the<br />

path of Glackman’s vehicle. No charges were filed. Both autos were demolished.<br />

Marsh was enroute to work at the Chrysler plant. Dr. Glackman, his daughter and two<br />

grandsons were enroute to Rockport, on the Ohio river in Spencer county, to attend the high<br />

school graduation ceremony of Sharon GLACKMAN, Dr. Glackman’s granddaughter.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body was returned today from Kokomo to the Boldinghouse funeral home in<br />

Rockport. Funeral services are incomplete, but tentatively have been set for Sunday afternoon in<br />

Rockport.
