Blanche Edington<br />

Word has been received here of the death in Manchester, O., of Mrs. Blanche<br />

EDINGTON, 81, mother of Charles EDINGTON, who lived in Rochester until about two weeks<br />

ago.<br />

Mrs. Edington died last Sunday morning aftr being in ill health for several years and<br />

bedfast for the last 20 months. Burial was in Manchester last Tuesday.<br />

Other survivors are a son, two daughters, a sister, a brother, ten grandchildren and twelve<br />

great-grandchildren. Charles Edington moved to Manchester two weeks ago.<br />

Ella May Hill<br />

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Zimmerman Brothers<br />

funeral home here for Mrs. Ella May HILL, 81, who died at Parkview hospital, Plymouth, at 11:30<br />

a.m. Friday.<br />

Mrs. Hill was a native of Rochester, being born here March 31, 1877, the daughter of<br />

Zachary Taylor and Laura Matilda LACKEY PRIEST. On Dec. 25, 1898, she was married here to<br />

Edward M. HILL, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1955.<br />

Mrs. Hill, a housewife, had lived in Plymouth for the last two years, moving there after<br />

living at Inwood for 12 years. She moved from Rochester in 1917. She was a member of the<br />

Baptist church.<br />

Surviving are three daughters, Miss Loreen HILL, Plymouth; Mrs. Zelna (Mildred)<br />

SPARKS, Hammond, and Mrs. Joseph (Jenesse) BARKER, Portage, Wis.; six grandchildren;<br />

twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Amy MARSHALL, Whiting, and Mrs. Della<br />

THRUSH, Milwaukee, and a brother, Arnold PRIEST, South Bend. Two sisters and a brother<br />

preceded her in death.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Richard MITCHELL of Fort Wayne, formerly pastor of the Rochester Baptist<br />

church, will be in charge of services. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends<br />

may call at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home after 3 p.m. today.<br />

Nellie E. Howard<br />

Mrs. Nellie E. HOWARD, 86, 700 Pontiac street, died at 5:30 a.m. today at Woodlawn<br />

hospital, where she had been a patient since March 13. Mrs. Howard was the widow of William<br />

A. HOWARD, long time Rochester jeweler.<br />

She was born in New York in 1872 but had lived in Rochester for about 75 years. She<br />

was the adopted daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles O. LYNK, former station agent for the<br />

L.E. & W. (now the Nickel Plate) railroad here.<br />

Mrs. Howard was married here Dec. 16, 1897. Mr. Howard preceded her in death on<br />

Nov. 20, 1948. A housewife, she was a member of the Rochester Presbyterian church.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Ayrton [HOWARD], LaPorte, and George [HOWARD],<br />

Rochester. A brother, George [LYNK], preceded her in death.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body was taken to the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home, where funeral<br />

arrangements are pending.
