Cora Dell Showley<br />

Mrs. Charles (Cora Dell) SHOWLEY, 79, Hobart, a former resident of the Bruce Lake<br />

community, died at her home at 11 p.m. Thursday after a lengthy illness.<br />

Born Nov. 16, 1879, in <strong>Fulton</strong> county, she was the daughter of Silas and Harriet<br />

OVERMYER SMITH. She was married Dec. 1, 1898 to Charles SHOWLEY, who survives.<br />

Mrs. Showley was a member of the St. Paul’s Reformed and the Bruce Lake Community<br />

churches.<br />

Surviving besides the husband are two sons, DeForrest [SHOWLEY], Wilmette, Ill., and<br />

Sanford [SHOWLEY], Leesburg, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy NEFF, Hobart, and ten<br />

grandchildren. A son, Curtis [SHOWLEY], preceded her in death.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Harrison chapel at Kwaanna with the Rev.<br />

Clarence Y. GILMER officiating. Burial will be in the Bruce Lake cemetery.<br />

Friends may call at the Harrison chapel after noon Saturday.<br />

W. C. Roesler<br />

W. C. “Bill” ROESLER, 41, former Rochester resident, died Sunday in a hospital at<br />

Clinton, O., after a short illness. He left this city four years ago and while here was employed as a<br />

roofing salesman. He also had been a member of the Manitou Moose lodge and was a World War<br />

II veteran.<br />

Surviving are the wife and four sons, all at home. Funeral rites and burial will be in<br />

Hannibal, Mo., Thursday.<br />

Mabel Lewis<br />

Mrs. Mabel LEWIS, 72, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday at her home in Oklahoma City, Okla.,<br />

after a 10-month illness.<br />

A native of the Mt. Zion community southeast of here, she was born April 25, 1887, the<br />

daughter of Jerry and Rachel ANGLEMYER. She left the Rochester community in 1914.<br />

Her marriage was in Chicago on Feb. 9, 1909, to Ua LEWIS, who survives. Mrs. Lewis,<br />

a practical nurse by occupation, was a member of the Green Oak Methodist church.<br />

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte DEAN, Rochester; one granddaghter,<br />

Jeannette DEAN; four sisters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Van EMAN, Mrs. Agnes QUINN, Mrs. Harold<br />

(Mary Jane) BEAUDOIN, all of Rocheter, and Mrs. Martha PULS, Franklin, O. Three children<br />

and one sister preceded her in death.<br />

Funeral rites will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wesleyan Methodist church at<br />

Oklahoma City. <strong>The</strong> Guardian funeral home there is in charge of the rites.
