resources during teacher plan times.
2. To establish tutoring in January 2012 through May 2012 for 4th -6th Grade in Reading and
Math. Tutoring will will be held 2 days a week and existing materials will be utilized and
customized for the needs of the students. Students will be assessed bi-weekly on objectives to
determine if instructional needs to be adjusted.

Walt Whitman will encourage parental involvement through
the use of monthly assemblies, monthly newsletters, marquee,
Family Literacy Nights twice a semester, quarterly report
cards, mid quarter progress reports, School Connects,
PowerSchool parent portal, school website, PTA meetings,
carnivals, Back to School nights. Students have online
accounts to Compass Learning, Envision Math, and Reading
Street so students and parents can access learning from
home.
