Introduction
Welcome to a review and analysis of published Tulsa Public Schools, Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP)
results for the school years 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11.
In the 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11. columns, the individual results are reported by their current school, not
necessarily the school where they were tested. This allows the site to view the current student performance over
the past three years for:
• Curriculum modifications
• Interventions
• Differentiation of instruction
• Instructional practices
This report presents the median OPI Score achieved as a common reference in many of its analyses. The median
score is the score at which 50% of students are above and 50% of the students are below. The median score is a
better measure of performance as it is not subject to the influence of variability in very high scores or very low
scores dampening its measurement capability. The median OPI score or the median percentile of questions
answered correctly on individual standards and objectives can reveal over time the extent a school or district is
moving students to higher levels of performance. This document is not a report of effort to meet or exceed Annual
Yearly progress (AYP); it is presented as a planning tool to assist schools to engage in a vigorous and complex
discussion relative to increasing student achievement.

All data presented within this document was taken directly from the published State, District and
Individual School OSTP summaries for the years indicated as published by Oklahoma Department of
Education. The data analysis presented unless otherwise noted are for all students Full Academic
Year (FAY) and Non Full Academic Year (NFAY). This method of comparison was selected as districts
are charged with the academic achievement of all students. The All FAY/NFAY category is used
whenever student data is compared at the school, district and/or the state level, unless otherwise
noted.
