How it will look when fully met:
From classroom observations, walkthroughs and lesson plans,
a small percentage of Walt Whitman teachers implemented
online student access to the Scott Foresman Reading Street
online tools and Envision Math. Afterschool tutoring was
offered last year to students needing additional academic
support. Each grade level attends at least one "being there"
experience field trip each year. Each year the fifth graders
attend a field trip to Langston University. Area middle schools
visit our campus to present to the fifth graders about the
programs offered at their site. Many students also visit area
middle schools for a "shadowing" experience.

Baby Hornet Cheerleaders compete in the Martin Luther King,
Jr. Parade in Tulsa and the Langston University Homecoming
Parade. Volunteers from Partners in Education volunteer and
bring learning opportunites into our building such as domino
club, pumpkin carving, and Math to Music.
