City of Lansing<br />

The City of Lansing is <strong>the</strong> second largest city in<br />

Leavenworth County and is located approximately five<br />

miles south of <strong>the</strong> City of Leavenworth. Lansing is a<br />

semi-urban city.<br />

The City of Lansing’s government is made up of a<br />

Mayor and 8 member City Council, two from each<br />

ward. The Mayor is elected at large.<br />

Land Use and Development Trends<br />

According to <strong>the</strong> 2010 census, <strong>the</strong> City of Lansing has a population of 11,265 people, a gain of<br />

560 people since <strong>the</strong> 2007 census. The land area is 8.6 square miles, and <strong>the</strong> population<br />

density is 1,310 people per square mile. Primary growth is west and south of Lansing.<br />
