Location<br />

Region L is vulnerable to transportation accidents, hazardous <strong>material</strong>, industrial, and medical<br />

uses that have radiation as a component. Johnson County has a higher percentage of hospitals<br />

and medical centers that could facilitate a higher incidence of exposure should an accident or<br />

<strong>the</strong>fts occur. All three counties in <strong>the</strong> planning area have a highly visible transportation node<br />

that could potentially increase <strong>the</strong>ir chance of a spill or accident resulting in radioactive <strong>material</strong><br />

being leaked.<br />
