FEMA-1885-DR—March 9, 2010 (December 21, 2009—January 10, 2010): Beginning<br />

December 22 nd a strong, slow moving storm moved into <strong>the</strong> western Kansas leaving heavy<br />

snow causing icy and snow packed roads in portions of northwestern Kansas. The storm<br />

system continued easterly and continued to significantly impact portions of north central,<br />

nor<strong>the</strong>astern, and sou<strong>the</strong>astern areas of <strong>the</strong> State. This storm system created blizzard<br />

conditions with dangerously high winds causing blowing/drifting snow, treacherous travel<br />
