Mitigation Plan to <strong>the</strong> Public.<br />

Wyandotte County is subject to a<br />

wide range of natural, man-made<br />

and technological hazards ranging<br />

from flooding to hazardous <strong>material</strong>s<br />

incidents, to tornadoes and severe<br />

wea<strong>the</strong>r. All citizens need to be<br />

aware of and plan for <strong>the</strong>se potential<br />

hazards. Citizen awareness and<br />

input is important during <strong>the</strong> planning<br />

process in order to develop a<br />

comprehensive countywide plan.<br />

Promote <strong>the</strong> Wyandotte County<br />

Multi-Jurisdictional All-Hazards<br />

Mitigation Plan to <strong>the</strong> Public and<br />

seek <strong>the</strong>ir comments. Promotion of<br />

<strong>the</strong> plan will be made thru news<br />

releases; various websites including<br />

a special page on <strong>the</strong> UG website;<br />

emails; neighborhood group<br />

announcements / newsletters;<br />

information to volunteer groups;<br />

public comment access areas at<br />

local libraries & city offices; and by<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r means—all to be addressed in<br />

<strong>the</strong> final Mitigation Plan.<br />

Continue Periodic Reviews / Updates<br />

of Wyandotte County Multi-<br />

Jurisdictional All-Hazards Mitigation<br />

Plan conducting a major <strong>review</strong><br />

every five years. A Complete<br />

Review & Update of <strong>the</strong> plan is<br />

required by FEMA at least once<br />

Jurisdictions to continue <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

mitigation compliance and remain<br />
