Other Mitigation Activities Fire drills are conducted on a monthly basis. Tornado drills are conducted three times each year, and a Bus Evacuation drill is conducted once a year. In addition, USD 453 practices intruder drills and Emergency Medical drills. Lockdown security training is provided for staff and students, as well as ongoing public education for water use, fire safety, household preparedness and environmental education. All buildings are equipped with intercom systems and the newly renovated buildings have new alert tones included.
