design/construct improvements as<br />

funding becomes available.<br />

Floodplain Management. Current<br />

minimum federal requirements<br />

allow fill in <strong>the</strong> floodplain and<br />

rising of <strong>the</strong> water<br />

surface elevation. The City would<br />

also like to continue to be<br />

compliant with <strong>the</strong> NFIP.<br />

Restrict/eliminate development in<br />

<strong>the</strong> existing and future conditions<br />

floodplains and acquire land if<br />

necessary.<br />

Shawnee believes in active code<br />

enforcement and follows national<br />

standards regarding all building<br />
