for use in storm water analysis and<br />

planning, and develop interactive<br />

floodplain and property parcel GIS<br />

application and database for use by<br />

city staff. Utilization of GIS<br />

capabilities should be expanded to<br />

include <strong>the</strong> use of ArcInfo and<br />

AutoCad format for various floodrelated<br />

projects throughout <strong>the</strong> City<br />

of Lansing and <strong>the</strong> Lansing Growth<br />

Area.<br />

4 Conduct engineering studies for<br />

design and construction of levees to<br />

protect several areas within <strong>the</strong><br />

Lansing city limits from flooding<br />

events. The City of Lansing has<br />

identified a need for <strong>the</strong> construction<br />

of levees to protect <strong>the</strong> Rock Creek<br />

West/Rock Creek West #5<br />

neighborhood and <strong>the</strong> Fawn Valley<br />

Replat neighborhood from flooding<br />

events.<br />

5 Conduct engineering studies for <strong>the</strong><br />

design and reconstruction of an<br />

engineered storm water channel<br />

within <strong>the</strong> city limits of Lansing. The<br />

City of Lansing has identified <strong>the</strong><br />

need for design and reconstruction<br />

of <strong>the</strong> engineered storm water<br />

channel located in <strong>the</strong> Holiday Hills<br />

neighborhood.<br />

6 Research and fund engineering<br />

services for a city-wide storm water<br />

infrastructure-needs assessment.<br />
