SpringH 1 Tornado safe rooms in all future<br />

city buildings. Kansas was <strong>the</strong><br />

highest rated state for tornadoes<br />

in 2008 at 168. In addition, <strong>the</strong><br />

area is often battered by high wind<br />

events that cause extensive<br />

damage. The city has plans to<br />

<strong>review</strong> <strong>the</strong> concept of adding a<br />

tornado refuge built to FEMA<br />

standards in all new construction<br />

because of this issue. The City of<br />

Spring Hill will <strong>review</strong> all future<br />

building plans and <strong>review</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

ability to add a safe room for<br />

citizens and employees in<br />

buildings such as libraries, public<br />

safety buildings, general use<br />

buildings and o<strong>the</strong>r buildings as<br />

appropriate. They will seek<br />

federal funding to assist with <strong>the</strong><br />
