individual preparation and care can<br />

prevent injury, illness and potential<br />

deaths. Provide public education<br />

talks, seminars, meetings with<br />

various groups, planning sessions,<br />

training, exercises, etc. Provide<br />

information thru websites; cell<br />

phones; newspapers, <strong>the</strong>atres,<br />

billboards, fliers, PSAs, television<br />

ads and o<strong>the</strong>r multimedia sources,<br />

Provide educational <strong>material</strong>s to<br />

schools, hospitals, senior citizen<br />

centers, long-term care facilities,<br />

business & industry and individuals.<br />

“All-Hazards” Wea<strong>the</strong>r Radios and<br />

Support <strong>the</strong> KC Metro Region’s<br />

“Project Community Alert” All-<br />

Hazards Wea<strong>the</strong>r Radio Program.<br />

Citizens need to receive timely<br />

information / warnings in order to<br />

protect <strong>the</strong>mselves from, prepare for,<br />

respond to and recover from various<br />

emergency type situations /<br />

incidents. The All-Hazards Wea<strong>the</strong>r<br />

Radio provides one of <strong>the</strong> necessary<br />

means for receipt of <strong>the</strong> notification<br />

and warning messages. Proper<br />

knowledge, individual preparation<br />

and care can prevent personal<br />

injury, illness and potential deaths.<br />
