1 The broadcast was devised in connection with the political debate surrounding the impending
«Diamond Jubilee» celebrations to mark the 50thanniversary of the general mobilisation of the Swiss
army. It was presented by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation on 23 March 1989. The journalists
involved were Rita Schwarzer, Peter Métraux and Toni Ladner.
2 Thaler, Geschäfte, 1998. The second volume, which according to information received from
U. Thaler on 31 May 2001 is due to be published at the end of 2002, will cover the Villiger/Strauss
case and a so far unknown take-over in 1938 where «brute force» was applied.
