3 Specify the comparison method. See "Specifying the comparison method" (UM-276) for<br />

details.<br />

4 Configure comparison options. See "Setting compare options" (UM-278) for details.<br />

5 Run the comparison by selecting Tools > Waveform Compare > Run Comparison.<br />

6 View the results. See "Viewing differences in the Wave window" (UM-279), "Viewing<br />

differences in the List window" (UM-281), <strong>and</strong> "Viewing differences in textual format"<br />

(UM-282)for details.<br />

Waveform Compare is initiated from either the Main or Wave window by selecting Tools<br />

>Waveform Compare > Start Comparison.<br />

Starting a waveform comparison<br />

Select Tools >Waveform Compare > Start Comparison to initiate the comparison. The<br />

Start Comparison dialog box allows you define the Reference <strong>and</strong> Test datasets.<br />

Reference Dataset<br />

The Reference Dataset is the .wlf file to which the test dataset will be compared. It can be<br />

a saved dataset, the current simulation dataset, or any part of the current simulation dataset.
