Batch mode<br />

<strong>ModelSim</strong> <strong>SE</strong> User’s <strong>Manual</strong><br />

St<strong>and</strong>-alone tools pick up project settings in comm<strong>and</strong>-line mode if they are invoked in the<br />

project's root directory. If invoked outside the project directory, st<strong>and</strong>-alone tools pick up<br />

project settings only if you set the MODELSIM environment variable to the path to the<br />

project file (/.mpf).<br />

Batch mode is an operational mode that provides neither an interactive comm<strong>and</strong> line nor<br />

interactive windows. In a UNIX environment, vsim can be invoked in batch mode by<br />

redirecting st<strong>and</strong>ard input using the “here-document” technique. In a Windows<br />

environment, vsim is run from a Windows comm<strong>and</strong> prompt <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard input <strong>and</strong> output<br />

are re-directed from <strong>and</strong> to files.<br />
