215 breastfeeding mother’s from a
private maternity hospital and 91
breastfeeding mothers from a
public maternity hospital in WA.
Included women who were still
breastfeeding at 7 days postpartum
and intended to continue.
Subjects were followed for 3
months
Mothers with healthy infants were
recruited from an obstetric hospital in
Auckland, New Zealand.
Face-to-face interview at first days
postpartum. Telephone interviews at
1,2,3,6,9 & 12 months postpartum

1994, and who planned to breastfeed.
