1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5 & 6 months after

cessation before 6 months for rural
compared to city mothers
Significant longer duration of any
breastfeeding in rural areas.
Effect on risk
Rural mothers breastfed for longer
compared to city mothers
No effect of whether the father
suggested breastfeeding on the risk of
discontinuing any or exclusive
breastfeeding before 6 months.
