Besides those involved in the performance of the Kurim at Mongar, he also extended gratitude of the religious community, the government, the business community and the people to those who performed Kurim in Lhakhangs and Goendey in the area. Even hereafter, the blessings of the Triple Gem and the benevolence and grace of His Majesty would enable the people to live in peace and happiness. The Chimi said he hoped that the present difficulty would soon be resolved and that the country would be able to fulfill the goals of Gross National Happiness as desired by His Majesty the King. The monastic community spent around Nu.4,500,000 in the 10 th month last year to sponsor various prayer recitations for one month by Anims and Gomchens in different Rabdey, Shedra and Dubdra in the country. Besides, a sum of Nu.400,000 has also been spent in making offerings of dedicatory prayers to different religious establishment for the benefit of Bhutanese passengers killed by armed militants in Assam last year. Moreover, three hundred thousand butter lamps and prayers for the dead have been offered in Punakha Dzong, from January 1 to 15. The happiness and well being of the government, people, dratshang and everyone depends on the peace and prosperity of the country. Realizing that not even a child will enjoy happiness if the country is not at peace, everyone has prayed devoutly to the Triple Gem so far, out of his or her love and concern for the country.
