Besides, it is also a mountainous country, and therefore in a position to attract many tourists and enhance the revenue earning capacity of the country. However, the geographic distance of the eastern Dzongkhags has not been favourable for considering aviation facilities. Owing to the ULFA-Bodo problem, travel through Samdrup Jongkhar has been stopped. This has not been conducive to tourism in eastern Dzongkhags. The introduction of helicopter services would promote equitable tourism. While the economic development has progressed forward, both the cultural and traditional heritage and the natural environment has been well-preserved. This has resulted in peace, happiness and prosperity of the Bhutanese people. At such a time, it is important to promote tourism related activities. This will not only generate revenue for the government but also enhance private sector development. It will be conducive for the establishment of industries related to Zorig Chusum.
