About the authors<br />

Dr Garner Clancey is an associate professor in criminology. Before joining the<br />

University of Sydney Law School in 2011, Garner worked as a crime prevention<br />

consultant (between 2002 <strong>and</strong> 2010) <strong>and</strong> in criminal justice (including Juvenile<br />

Justice NSW <strong>and</strong> the NSW Police Force) <strong>and</strong> alcohol <strong>and</strong> other drug agencies in<br />

NSW <strong>and</strong> Engl<strong>and</strong> (between 1992 <strong>and</strong> 2002). Garner’s research interests include<br />

crime prevention, youth crime, juvenile justice <strong>and</strong> criminal justice policy making.<br />

Brenda Lin is a research assistant <strong>and</strong> works with Dr Garner Clancey at the<br />

University of Sydney Law School. She has a strong interest in criminology, criminal<br />
