CO NOX VOC CO2 PM
1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010
Figure 4 Development in the emissions of CO, CO 2 , NO X , VOC and particles
(PM) from Danish vehicles in Denmark.
This is one of the interesting types of detailed information that the
model is able to provide. It is not possible to compare these detailed
results with the other models, as they do not provide this kind of information.
The consequences of the economic forecast are illustrated in Figure 4
showing 5 different emissions. The development in CO 2 is closely in
line with the development in the traffic performance. As can be seen
from the figure the CO 2 emissions are almost doubled from 1997 to
2010.
At the same time a quite substantial reduction in the other emission
components can be observed. These reductions are due to the introduced
regulation on the amounts of emissions allowed for these
components.
Another reason with less importance is the composition of the type of
vehicles that performs the transport, and also the composition of the
type of goods that is transported. The main influence does however
come from the EU regulation.
In Figure 5 the distribution of the CO 2 emissions on different types of
vehicles are shown. As it can be seen in the figure, the small vehicles
are responsible for a large level share of the traffic performed, and are
thus contributing much to the overall development in the emissions.
It is therefore striking that there has been no attempts to collect and
provide more information on the use of these vehicles.
