❑ Practice 1: Download updated drivers for one of the hardware devices and<br />

install them. Try installing updated drivers from the Windows Update Web<br />

site; also check the Web site of the hardware device manufacturer. Then, roll<br />

back the driver to the previous version.<br />

❑ Practice 2: Download an updated driver for one of your hardware devices.<br />

Notice the current driver version before the upgrade using Device Manager.<br />

Next, install the updated driver. Restart your computer if necessary, and<br />

launch System Restore. Windows XP should have automatically created a<br />

restore point before you installed the driver. Restore to this point, and restart<br />

your computer. Use Device Manager to verify that the driver version was<br />

returned to the version before the update.<br />

Important For the following task, you should complete at least Practice 1. If you want<br />

hands-on experience with every aspect of the exam and you have a test computer available,<br />

complete Practice 2 as well.<br />
