Windows XP Professional provides the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel<br />

to make it easy for you manage programs and Windows components on your computer.<br />

You use it to add applications, such as Microsoft Word, from CD-ROM, floppy<br />

disk, or network shares. You also use it to add Windows components to a Windows XP<br />

Professional installation. The Add Or Remove Programs tool also allows you to remove<br />

applications or Windows components.<br />

Lesson 5 Managing Windows Components<br />

You can install Windows components that you did not select when you installed Windows<br />

XP Professional on your computer. The components you can install include Fax<br />

Services, Internet Information Services (IIS), Management and Monitoring Tools,<br />

Message Queuing, and additional Network Services. If you want to install one of the<br />

Windows components, select it, and then click Next.<br />

To install or remove Windows components, use the Add Or Remove Programs tool. In<br />

the Add Or Remove Programs window, click Add/Remove Windows Components to<br />

open the Windows Components Wizard (see Figure 5-22).<br />
