■ To encrypt a folder, select the Encrypt Contents To Secure Data check box in the<br />

Advanced Attributes dialog box, which you can access by clicking Advanced on<br />

the General tab of the folder’s Properties dialog box.<br />

■ To decrypt a folder, clear the Encrypt Contents To Secure Data check box in the<br />

Advanced Attributes dialog box.<br />

■ You can control file and folder encryption from the command line using the<br />

Cipher command.<br />

■ Windows XP Professional also provides a recovery agent. If an owner loses the<br />

private key, the recovery agent can still recover the encrypted file.
