Block All Cookies Blocks cookies from all Web sites and makes existing cookies on your<br />

computer unreadable by Web sites.<br />

High Blocks cookies that do not have a compact privacy policy and those that<br />

use personally identifiable information without your explicit consent.<br />

Medium High Blocks third-party cookies that do not have a compact privacy policy<br />

and those that use personally identifiable information without your<br />

explicit consent. It also blocks first-party cookies that use personally<br />

identifiable information without your implicit consent.<br />

Medium Blocks third-party cookies that do not have a compact privacy policy<br />

Accept All Cookies Allows all cookies to be saved on the computer. Existing cookies on this<br />

Tip You can also click Advanced to override automatic cookie handling and manually define<br />

whether to accept, block, or prompt first-party and third-party cookies.<br />

In addition to helping protect you from errant cookies, the Privacy tab also lets you<br />

enable Internet Explorer’s built-in Pop-Up Blocker, which helps prevent Web pages<br />

from opening unexpected (and unwanted) pop-up windows. To enable the Pop-Up<br />

Blocker, select the Block Pop-Ups check box. After enabling the feature, click Settings<br />

to configure how the Pop-Up Blocker works. You can enter the names of sites for<br />

which you want to allow pop-ups, as well as have Internet Explorer play sounds when<br />

a pop-up is blocked. You can also control whether Internet Explorer announces<br />

blocked pop-up windows in its Information Bar.<br />

Internet Explorer displays the Information Bar just below the address bar when certain<br />

activities occur, such as file downloads, blocked pop-up windows, and other alerts.<br />

How to Configure Content Options<br />

The Content tab of the Internet Options dialog box gives you access to the Content<br />

Advisor, which controls the display of Web sites based on rating levels defined by the
