Exercise 2: Change the Startup Type of a Service
1. Right-click Error Reporting Service, and then click Properties.
2. In the Error Reporting Services Properties dialog box, on the General tab, on the
Startup Type drop-down list, click Disabled.
3. Click OK.
4. In the Services window, is the service enabled or disabled? Is the service stopped
or started?
5. Click Stop.
6. Close the Services window.
Exercise 3: Enable a Service with the System Configuration Utility
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
3. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, on the Services tab, clear the check
box next to the Computer Browser service.
4. Click OK.
5. In the System Configuration dialog box, click Restart.
Windows restarts. After restarting, Windows displays the System Configuration
Utility dialog box, warning you that Windows is running in Selective or Diagnostic
mode.
6. Click OK.
7. On the Services tab, is the Computer Browser service stopped or started?
8. Select the check box next to the Computer Browser service, and then click OK.
9. In the System Configuration dialog box, click Restart.
