LIFE AND WORKS
Late 3rd c. A.D., from Carthage. Author of four Eclogues, once ascribed to Calpurnius
(see M. Haupt, De carminibus bucolicis Calpurniiet Nemesiani (Berlin 1854)); Cynegetica
(written c. 284, see vv. 63—5; 325 lines survive); and perhaps of two fragments De
aucupio. Also wrote on fishing and sailing {Hist. Aug. Carinus 11.2) and projected an
epic on Carinus and Numerianus (Cyn. 63-5).
