sentences with these verbs behave very much like simple<br />

sentences. Passive is formed in the same way as forming<br />

passive from a simple sentence; the object is placed in.the<br />

subject position and the subject in a is-phrase, which can<br />

be omitted. This is how the passive sentences (3) and (6)<br />

are formed. Other active-passive pairs:<br />
