2.1.1.1 Glossing Conventions<br />

To indicate levels or politeness, some subscripts will<br />

be used in the glosses of pronouns and their bound forms.<br />

However, the following are not marked with a diacritic: (1)<br />

the third person pronoun jih 'he/she/it/they' and its<br />

prefixal and suffixal forms ii- and -iih when used for<br />

animals or unrespected entities; (2) geu- '3' (from gopnyan<br />

'he/sher') when used for children with the meaning 'youy' or<br />

'one' as in Bek lagee nvan geu-meututo 'Don't like that 3-<br />

talk (One should not talk like that)'; and (3) first person<br />

pronouns, except Jsaa-<br />

The subscripts and the pronouns to which they are<br />

applied are:<br />

(vulgar). This is used for kee and its bound<br />
