Some verbs have both a direct object and an oblique<br />

object when they are used in a simple sentence. The order is<br />

direct object followed by oblique object. But when a clause<br />

in embedded in the direct object NP, this NP is shifted to<br />

the right. One of such verbs is peugah 'to tell, to say.'<br />

Compare the order of the the two objects in the simple<br />

sentence (72) and the order of the objects in (73), where<br />

the direct object NP is a clause.<br />

'I have told him/her about the news.'<br />
