Enabling <strong>the</strong> Archive Service<br />

Be<strong>for</strong>e you can archive a configuration, you must enter ARCHIVE mode using <strong>the</strong> command archive from<br />

CONFIGURATION mode, as shown in Figure 50. This enables <strong>the</strong> archiving service. If you do not enable<br />

<strong>the</strong> archive service, Message 4 appears when you attempt to archive a configuration.<br />

You do not have to enable <strong>the</strong> archive service again if you save <strong>the</strong> running configuration after completing<br />

task. If you reload <strong>the</strong> system or upgrade your <strong>FTOS</strong> version without saving <strong>the</strong> running configuration you<br />

must enable <strong>the</strong> archive service again.<br />
