\Fast Convergence Fast Converence allows you to define the speeds at which LSAs are originated and accepted, and reduce OSPF end-to-end convergence time. Note that the faster the convergence, the more frequent the route calculations and updates. This will impact CPU utilization and may impace adjacency stability in larger topologies. Use the following command in CONFIGURATION- ROUTER-OSPF mode to set the convergence speeds. Command Syntax Command Mode Usage fast converge convergence level CONFIG-ROUTER -OSPF Set the convergence level for the OSPF process. The higher the number, the faster the OSPF convergence. Troubleshooting OSPF FTOS has several tools to make troubleshooting easier. Be sure to check the following, as these are typical issues that interrupt the OSPF process. Note that this is not a comprehensive list, just some examples of typical troubleshooting checks. • Has OSPF been enabled globally? • Is the OSPF process active on the interface? • Are ten adjacencies established correctly? • Are the interfaces configured for Layer 3 correctly? • Is the router in the correct area type? • Have the routes been included in the OSPF database? • Have the OSPF routes been included in the routing table (not just the OSPF database)? Some useful troubleshooting commands are: • show interfaces • show protocols • debug IP OSPF events and/or packets • show neighbors • show virtual links • show routes Use the following commands in EXEC Privileged mode to get general route and links status information.
