SFMs<br />

In a system with nine SFMs, you can designate which SFM is <strong>the</strong> Standby SFM, and <strong>the</strong>n hot-swap that<br />

SFM with ano<strong>the</strong>r SFM. At boot time, <strong>the</strong> system designates, by default, <strong>the</strong> SFM in slot 8 as <strong>the</strong> Standby<br />

SFM.<br />

Note: Standby SFM is available only in E<strong>the</strong>rScale systems.<br />

To change an active SFM to <strong>the</strong> Standby SFM, use <strong>the</strong> following command:<br />

Command Syntax Command Mode Usage<br />

redundancy <strong>for</strong>ce-failover sfm<br />

number<br />

Use this command only when nine SFMs are present in <strong>the</strong> system.<br />

Use <strong>the</strong> show sfm all command in <strong>the</strong> EXEC privilege mode to view which SFM is currently redundant.<br />
