Read the release notes to determine when you need to upgrade. In some cases the system notifies you when you must upgrade. For example, a boot code upgrade is required when upgrading the C-Series to FTOS version 7.5.1.0, and the system displays Message 32 if an upgrade is required for partition A, partition B, or both. Message 32 Boot Flash Upgrade Required %RPM0-P:CP %DOWNLOAD-5-NEEDUPGRADE: Detected cp boot flash A and B's version lower than 2.4.1.1. It is mandatory to upgrade boot flash to 2.4.1.1 or above for system image version 7.2.1.0 or above. Upgrade using the boot flash image packed with the currently running FTOS image.
