Enable preempt<br />

To <strong>for</strong>ce <strong>FTOS</strong> to change <strong>the</strong> MASTER router if a BACKUP router with a higher priority comes online,<br />

use <strong>the</strong> preempt command. This function is enabled by default.<br />

You can prevent <strong>the</strong> BACKUP router with <strong>the</strong> higher priority from becoming <strong>the</strong> MASTER router by<br />

disabling <strong>the</strong> preempt function.<br />

All virtual routers in a VRRP group must be configured <strong>the</strong> same; ei<strong>the</strong>r all configured with preempt<br />

enabled or configured with preempt disabled.<br />

To disable <strong>the</strong> preempt function, use <strong>the</strong> following command in <strong>the</strong> VRRP mode:<br />
